I would like to share how I encountered COVID-19 and my experience with it. My name is Emmanuel.

I work for a healthcare organization in Hyderabad. On the 1st of December 2020, I was asked to travel to Pune for a project for my current organization. I headed to Pune in the first week of December 2020. I was handling a small team of around 10 members. There was a young lady in my team who was coughing for five days continuously. She was asked to go through the COVID-19 test and she tested positive. The organization demanded that all the team undergo the test. When the test was done, all the team members tested positive and we had to stop the project.

I had to leave Pune and come back to Hyderabad. Once I landed in Hyderabad, I was feeling a little unwell and visited the doctor in Hyderabad even before I could go back to my home. To my surprise what I feared the most had come upon me. Yes, I tested positive and was prescribed medicines by the doctor. The doctors suggested to me that I stay away from my family for some time. I decided to stay in a hotel and quarantine myself for 15 days. I was upset about the whole situation because I had no idea how this would turn out. There were phone calls after phone calls from my family and friends but I refused to have them come and see me in the hotel because I didn’t want my loved ones to be affected by this pandemic. Besides, I would just do video calls sometimes to speak to my family and I was in a state of loneliness. My situation started worsening. The symptoms started getting severe with heavy breathing problems. I had lost all hope!

But something happened after a week. I started feeling better in the hotel. So I continued the medicines. My condition improved a lot. Luckily, it was just medicines and I started to breathe better as well. But still, I wanted to visit the doctor again. Once I was out of the cold, cough, fever, and breathing problems, I happened to consult the doctor on the 30th of December 2020. I got my report on the 31st December 2020 and was declared COVID-19 negative. My happiness knew no bounds! It was a great trauma that I had went through and I was out of it.
