Hello, my name is Javier, I’m 30 years old and I’m from Santiago de Chile. I think that my pandemic story has two sides, one is my business which is a big place in the north of the capital city in a place called Mantagua.

I have a hostel with 101 dormitories, 8 cabins, a big green area to barbecue, outdoor sports, and swimming pools. This project started last year in 2019 and it was supposed to explode this year, but the virus hit. So we had to stop all the activities and all the big events for this year. Leaving me in a really bad situation and not only me but my family and all the workers. This was supposed to pay my bills and my debts but it has been the opposite, I had to fire all the workers because without customers there is no money to pay them, and especially this year I was supposed to pay the bank part of the investment.

Anyway, I can balance this situation with the other side of the coin which is that I recently became a father. The birth of my first son Santiago who has been on this earth for 27 days and counting. So far, this is the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me in this life. It’s so beautiful and unique that I cannot explain how big it is. All the drama in my business is just secondary now and I’m so happy that I don’t care about nothing, not even COVID-19 can change the way I feel. I have so much inspiration for what is coming that I feel ready to retake control, but I have to say I feel so happy to have time in my house with my wife and my beautiful son.
